CTO Club

The concept of CTO (Chief Technology Officer) in Korea was firstly introduced from the US, when there was a need to define the role of technology executives and to further extend their responsibilities. As technology sector not only in the business but also in the national strategy had become important, it became necessary to establish an organization to put technology gurus in the country's leading companies together to be able to do something meaningful in terms of technological development.

Founded in 1996 by KOITA and comprised of 66 tech. executives and R&D institutes' leaders, CTO Club meets twice a month to share views and ideas on the technology issues. CTO Club hosts various seminars or workshops to keep informed on the new trends.

STL Club

In order to utilize the experiences and skills retired technologists have, STL Club was launched May 2002. Club activities would include offering technological advices to SMEs, consulting, information sharing, identifying new technology trends and fellowship events. STL Club will act as a counseling body for KOITA and its several technology-evaluation activities.

FORDEC

Foreign R&D Executives Council (FORDEC) was established with exclusive goals of solving bottlenecks in managing R&D center operation as well as supporting networking activities among foreign invested companies and R&D centers. Since its inception in 2003, it has conducted a variety of activities including policy suggestion to relevant government ministries, sharing information among members and holding lecture meetings. Membership has reached 40 as of May 2007, and most of them are CTOs or R&D directors of foreign invested companies.

NET Club

NET(New Excellent Technology) Club members are the recipients of NET Mark or the company presidents who have received the prestigious mark. Members meet every two month to exchange latest technology information, develop business cooperation, and share activities that are mutually beneficial to each other.

R&D Directors Meeting

Since 1985, KOITA has held meetings for R&D directors quarterly. At the meeting, R&D directors have opportunities to learn about important issues relating to R&D from the invited guest speakers, either from the government or the academia.

R&D Managers Meeting

This meeting for R&D managers has been held since 1990. During the meeting, managers share and learn the practical usage related to research activities such as measuring R&D productivity, new trend forecasts, performance evaluation, value creation, constituting an effective R&D team and so forth.
